The Titanic Prophecy: Was the Disaster Foretold in the Bible?

Introduction: A Revelation Too Profound to Ignore

When I first began my research into the phenomenon of ELS Bible codes four years ago, I never could have anticipated the magnitude of the revelations I would uncover. One of my most profound discoveries occurred in the early morning hours of November 28, 2022. That morning, I ran an ELS word search for the word “Titanic” in the Standard Thenach edition of the Hebrew Bible. Little did I know that this simple experiment would lead to the discovery of a hidden Bible prophecy which foretold the tragic fate of the RMS Titanic–thousands of years in advance.

Discovery of the Titanic Prophecy

Using special software designed to search the text of the Hebrew Bible for specific words and phrases encoded at equidistant letter sequences, I ran a search for the word “Titanic” in Hebrew at an ELS range of 1-150,000 letters. The software returned 1 single hit, indicating that the word Titanic was encoded once—only once—in the Standard Thenach edition of the Hebrew Bible.1 That in itself was remarkable.

But what truly shocked me was the verse I found running across the grid just two lines down from the encoded letters. I have screenshotted the reconstructed grid so that you may see for yourself:

Screenshot of the Titanic Bible code grid. The image depicts a 3-row, 1-column table showing the word "Titanic" encoded in the Hebrew text-grid, two lines above the prophecy of Ezekiel 26:5. These two statements converge in the grid to form a cryptic prophecy about the fate of the RMS Titanic.

As can be seen, the Bible passage running across the grid just two lines down was Ezekiel 26:5:

She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD; and she shall become plunder for the nations.” (Ezekiel 26:5)

In its original context, this was a prophecy given by the prophet Ezekiel concerning the ancient city of Tyre–a fortified island city off the coast of ancient Phoenicia in the Mediterranean. But it was immediately obvious that within the context of the Bible code–this verse was talking about the fate of the RMS Titanic.

The parallels to the Titanic were immediately undeniable:

  • A structure thought to be invincible, but doomed to destruction.
  • A catastrophe in the midst of the sea.
  • A wreck that would be plundered by the nations decades after it sank.

At first, I believed this was just an isolated prophetic connection. But as I continued reading Ezekiel’s oracles against Tyre, I realized something earth-shattering:

It wasn’t only Ezek. 26:5 that was talking about the Titanic. Rather, all of Ezekiel’s oracles against Tyre were simultaneously talking about the Titanic.

This became apparent in the very next chapter, where Ezekiel literally describes Tyre as a doomed merchant ship, destined not only to sink–but to be broken in two by the seas (Ezek. 27:34), and to drag her passengers and cargo down with her to the depths of the sea! (Ezek. 27:26-27; 34) This description mirrors Titanic’s fate in every single detail.

As if the magnitude of this realization wasn’t mind-blowing enough on its own, I soon had an even more profound epiphany.

As I began to flip around through the Old Testament and read other prophecies and oracles against Tyre–I suddenly realized that it wasn’t just Ezekiel’s prophecies about Tyre that were simultaneously talking about the Titanic. Rather, every single prophecy in the Bible about Tyre applied—point for point—to the Titanic.

I knew immediately that I had just uncovered an ancient prophetic mystery of titanic significance.

Ezekiel’s Vision: The Titanic as the Doomed Ship of Tyre

Many biblical prophecies contain double fulfillments—one for ancient times, and one for a later, often distant, future event. The prophecies about Tyre seem to follow this pattern.

Ezekiel 26 is only the beginning. In Ezekiel 27, the prophet delivers an extended metaphor about Tyre—not as a city, but as a magnificent merchant ship that would be destroyed in the midst of the seas.

“Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.” (Ezekiel 27:26)

🔹 The Titanic was a merchant ship filled with the richest cargo and the most elite passengers of her time.
🔹 Like Tyre, the Titanic was broken in two by the waters of the sea—the exact fate Ezekiel describes for the doomed vessel of Tyre.
🔹 The ship’s crew and passengers were dragged down into the abyss with her—just as Ezekiel had prophesied about the metaphorical ship of Tyre.

“Broken in the Midst of the Sea” – A Perfect Prophetic Parallel

The Titanic did not simply sink. She broke apart.

Many early survivor accounts falsely claimed that she sank intact, but later dives proved that the ship snapped in half before plunging to the bottom.

Ezekiel specifically describes the doomed ship of Tyre as being broken in two:

“Thy ship was broken in the midst of the seas. (Ezekiel 27:34)

This single phrase is one of the most striking prophetic parallels to the Titanic imaginable. The only two ships in history that fit this precise description are:

1️⃣ The metaphorical ship of Tyre in Ezekiel’s prophecy
2️⃣ The RMS Titanic

This cannot be a coincidence.

Isaiah’s 70-Year Prophecy: A Timed Prediction of the Titanic’s Rediscovery

Isaiah also prophesied about the destruction of Tyre, well over a century before Ezekiel did. He stated that after her downfall:

“Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years.” (Isaiah 23:15)

Historically, Tyre’s destruction and obscurity lasted exactly 70 years before it was revived.

But here’s where the prophecy takes a mind-blowing turn:

  • The Titanic sank on April 14, 1912.
  • It was rediscovered on September 1, 1985–73 years later.

Once it was found, salvage operations began almost immediately, as teams of explorers began retrieving her artifacts.

Because the wreck lies in international waters, it does not belong to any particular nation.

Since the discovery of her watery grave, teams of explorers from many nations have visited the wreck, plundering her of artifacts, just as Ezekiel had prophesied in the verse that transverses right below the encoded word “Titanic” on the grid.

And Isaiah too spoke of this–over a century before Ezekiel!

Isaiah’s prophecy doesn’t just say Tyre would be forgotten for seventy years—it says that after that 70-year period, Tyre would return to her former “hire” (commerce, trade, exploitation), and sing as a harlot once again–committing fornication with all the kingdoms of the world just as she once had (Isa. 23:17).

After the Titanic was found, artifacts from the wreck were soon auctioned off for millions of dollars.

The Titanic followed the exact same pattern as Tyre.

A Warning from History: The Dangers of Overconfidence

Both Tyre and Titanic were symbols of human arrogance.

  • The Phoenicians of Tyre believed their city was invincible. Their walls and navy made them untouchable.
  • The Titanic’s builders and crew believed the ship was unsinkable—so much so that they neglected to put enough lifeboats on board.

Both were given clear warnings before their destruction:

🚨 Tyre was warned of its impending judgment by the prophets but ignored them.
🚨 Titanic received six iceberg warnings but refused to slow down.

The Bible makes it clear that pride invites destruction. In speaking of Tyre, Isaiah declares:

The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth. (Isaiah 23:9)

This verse reveals that Tyre’s downfall was not merely a geopolitical event—it was an act of divine judgment, meant to humble the arrogant and expose the frailty of human power.

The same pattern can be seen in the Titanic disaster. The ship was built as a testament to human ingenuity, hailed as practically unsinkable. Yet, in the very hour of its maiden voyage, its builders’ overconfidence proved to be their undoing.

The warnings were clear. The time to act was given. But just as Tyre dismissed the words of the prophets, so too did Titanic’s crew dismiss the repeated iceberg warnings.

Pride brought both Tyre and Titanic to ruin, just as Isaiah 23:9 warns.

Even in their final moments, Tyre and Titanic shared another eerie similarity—the evacuation of women and children.

When Alexander the Great laid siege to Tyre, the Tyrians evacuated their women and children from the island, sending them to the Phoenician colony of Carthage before the city fell.

Likewise, when the Titanic struck the iceberg, the crew evacuated women and children first into lifeboats before the ship finally sank.

In both cases, the men remained behind to face their fate, while the women and children were spared—a haunting reflection of history repeating itself.

The Bible warns us:

“Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18)

Tyre was destroyed.
Titanic was destroyed.

Was the Titanic disaster a modern fulfillment of an ancient biblical paradigm? The Titanic Bible code appears to confirm that it was.

Titanic Prophecy & Bible code Summary

We’ve covered a lot of ground in this analysis. To ensure that the magnitude of the revelation is fully realized, let us briefly summarize what we have covered.

We saw that the word “Titanic” is encoded only one single time in the Standard Thenach edition of the Hebrew Bible.

We saw that when the computer organizes the text of the Hebrew Bible where the code occurs into a grid, the encoded word “Titanic” appears right above Ezekiel 26:5–a prophecy of destruction against ancient Tyre. This prophecy declares: “She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea,” and that she would “become plunder for the nations.”

From this it was concluded that the Titanic Bible code constitutes a cryptic prophecy about the RMS Titanic, revealing that Ezekiel 26:5 is a dual prophecy. But this turned out to be only the tip of the iceberg of a much larger, more profound revelation.

The uncovering of this Bible code led directly to the profound realization that every prophecy in the Bible about the city of Tyre, simultaneously applies to the RMS Titanic. As such, the discovery of this Bible code did not just reveal a single Bible prophecy about the RMS Titanic. Rather, it uncovered an entire unified network of hidden prophetic declarations concerning the doomed Oceanliner–fated to sink on her maiden voyage.

These prophecies describe not only Titanic’s imminent ruin in remarkably precise detail, but also foretold: the precise length of time that she would be forgotten, that she would be plundered by many nations after that 70-year period had transpired, and that she would return to her former whorish ways of commercial exploitation after her rediscovery.

We saw that in the very next chapter where he continues his oracles against Tyre, Ezekiel describes Tyre using the metaphor of a doomed merchant ship carrying all sorts of fancy wares and merchandise. He declares that this proverbial doomed ship will be broken in two by the waters of the sea–sinking to the depths of the watery abyss with all its crew, passengers, and wealth.

We also saw that Isaiah’s 70-year prophecy aligns precisely with the Titanic’s rediscovery—just over seven decades after her destruction—accurately predicting her return to “her hire” with the start of the artifact trade.

These parallels are all far too precise to have occurred just by random chance. As the bewildered magicians said to Pharaoh: “This is the finger of God.” (Exod. 8:19)

Conclusion: Was the Fate of the Titanic Foretold in a Hidden Bible Prophecy?

The God of the Bible declares history before it happens. Long before the Titanic was ever conceived, long before she was ever constructed, God’s Word already contained a detailed description of her fate—hidden within the Hebrew Bible in the form of an ELS code, which occurs next to an ancient prophetic warning given to Tyre by divine providence.

As the Lord declares in Isaiah:

Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth, I tell you of them. (Isaiah 42:9)

God does not leave history to chance. He reveals His foreknowledge in prophecy—not only to prove His divine sovereignty, but to call people to recognize His authority over time itself.

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.‘” (Isaiah 46:9-10)

This Titanic prophecy serves as a living witness to this truth.

As Isaiah also writes:

Who among them can declare this, and show us former things? … Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God. (Isaiah 43:9-12, paraphrased)

The sinking of the Titanic was foretold long before it came to pass—not by men, but by the God who declares the end from the beginning.
